Our Story

Our founder, Philip, knows small business life inside and out. Growing up in a family that ran barbershops and an auto salvage yard, his business education started when he was eight years old at the family dinner table, listening to discussions about raising prices, renewing leases, and keeping customers happy.

After college, he took a different path — spending seven years in the Navy in Nuclear Engineering before becoming a 3-time Inc 5000 CEO — growing a 17-year-old geophysical consulting firm by 50% annually for five years, all fueled by cash flow.

Through it all, he’s seen the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. He remembers his mom managing the books at the kitchen table — and the $5,000 lesson he learned when a bookkeeper’s confusion about debits and credits led to a hefty tax bill. He’s advised his dad through a business sale, been through due diligence with a $26B (Billion with a “B”) company, and run a consulting business generating over $80M a year.
